
Mandy and Ray Adams Photo Credit: Joanna C. Lee (2015) The sad news has reached the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) concerning the passing of Mrs. Amanda “Mandy” J. H. Adams (安滿麗) a former missionary partner of the United Reformed Church (URC). Mandy died peacefully on Saturday, 15 August 2026, lovingly surrounded by members of her family. Some ten years ago Mandy was diagnosed with a rare condition Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and with the loving care and constant support of her husband Rev. Ray Adams, and family had lived courageously through its difficult and varied stages. Rev. Raymond “Ray” (An Lé-bûn 安禮文)and Mrs. Mandy Adams (安滿麗) were appointed to serve the PCT and assigned to the Music Department of the Tainan Theological Collee and Seminary. They first arrived on 30 December 1978 and left Taiwan ending their service in 1986. After returning to England, UK Mandy, as well as raising their three children, supported her husband in pastoral ministry. Mandy was ordained an Elder when living in Bishop's Hull, Taunton. She went on to teach English as a second language at Queens College and later worked as PA to the URC Thames North Synod Moderator and finally served in the Ministries Department at the United Reformed Church (URC) GA Church House in London. Upon retiring in 2017 Mandy and Ray moved to Chippenham, Wiltshire. The Presbyterian Church in Taiwan extends their sincere condolences to Ray Adams, and their three children Louise, Christopher and Jessica; their grandchildren, and wider family on the loss of a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
