The World Council of Churches’ Ecumenical Institute at Bossey cordially invites emerging and senior scholars from diverse Christian traditions to participate in an international conference focusing on the ecumenical significance of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea (325 CE) and its relevance in today’s rapidly changing world. “Towards Nicaea 2025: Exploring the Council’s Ecumenical Significance Today,”It is part of the lead-up to the Christian world celebrating, in 2025, the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, which brought together for the first time bishops representing the whole of Christendom.The conference welcomes theologians, students, and individuals with an interest in Nicaea and its outcomes, as well as those engaged in ecumenical theological education. Call for Paper Proposals:Scholars are invited to submit abstracts for paper presentations. The deadline for abstract submissions is March 28, 2024.
